Kottayam,October 8: Mangalam daily is bringing out a midday broadsheet-Mangalam Plus The midday paper formally launched by opposition leader Oomen Chandy at a function at theTirunakkara grounds. Irrigation and water resources minister N K Premachandran. MPs' Jose K Mani and Anto Antony, MLAs' V N Vasavan and Thomas Chazhikadan, district panchayath president T N Ramesan and K 3 a chief patron Joseph Chavara offered felicitations. Various stage performances ranging from dance numbers to songs added color and fire to the inaugural event. Announcing the launch,Mangalam chief editor Sabu Varghese, managing editor Sajan Varghese, editor Dr Saji Varghese and executive editor Raju Mathew told mediapersons that the paper will have many plus points when compared to those in vogue in the market. Comprising 16 pages with half of it in colour,prominence will be given to hot news and crime amid a policy to consistently check any fall in credibility and standards,they added.Initially,the paper will be published from Kottayam and based on the response,an edition will soon come out from Kochi also.
