Velloor,September 7 2010 : The UPA government at the centre is committed to protect the Hindustan Newsprint unit here as well as many other similar premier concerns in the country in the public sector itself,maintained Vilasrao Desmukh, Union minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises here on Monday.
Speaking at a public meet held in connection with his visit to the HNL ,the union minister affirmed that the HNL unit is one of the best in the newsprint production sector of the country.However,productivity has to be increased in view of the fact that the days of monopoly in the market is over,he reminded.S.N Bhattacharyya ,Chairman and Managing Director,Hindustan Paper Corporation Ltd,Harbhajan Singh , union joint secretary,MPs' Jose K Mani and,AntoAntony Mons Joseph MLA,INTUC state president R Chandarsekharan ,HNL managing director M V Narasimha Rao and HNL Employees Association secretary T. Gopi Das are also seen.
